“I believe great service is not about what you say, but what you do. I show my clients I value my relationship with them by staying in touch on topics I know are important to them.”

A partner at StarkSchenkein, Gary is the leader of the firm's tax department. He specializes in a variety of industries, including real estate, manufacturing, construction, retail, and other service industries. In addition, Gary has extensive forensic experience in the areas of valuation of economic damages due to interference with business contracts, wrongful death, employee dishonesty, wrongful termination, and personal injury.

Gary is committed to comprehensive customer service and continually searches for ways to add value to his engagements. He recently helped a new client save more than $600,000 in federal taxes by digging deeper and challenging prior advisors' conclusions about the nature of the client’s transactions.

Prior to joining StarkSchenkein, LLP in 1998, Gary spent two years working in the audit/tax department for the BDO Seidman Alliance and seven years at Kaufman and Company as a tax partner. He was drawn to a career in accounting because of his love and aptitude for numbers. Gary believes his diligence and dedication to his clients helped him achieve the success he enjoys today.

Having lived all over the country, including Miami, New York and San Francisco, Gary now enjoys the beauty of Denver’s changing seasons. He’s also happy to be close to many wonderful family and friends, including his loving wife, Laure, their active twin boys, and a much-loved Wheaton Terrier. In his free time he enjoys skiing, scuba-diving, golf and working on his sons’ tree house.
