Richard Asay

With more than 40 years of experience in the accounting industry and a diverse background in both public and private accounting, Richard is now an esteemed partner at StarkSchenkein, LLP. He brings to the firm the expertise of financial reporting with extensive experience in estate and gift tax matters, trusts, IRS examinations and individual tax planning and compliance.
Richard has been involved in the creation and management of several tax departments and has held the position of partner over taxation and practice development. He has significant career experience with closely held businesses and publicly traded companies, including C-Corps., S-Corps., Partnerships and LLCs in Real Estate, Manufacturing, Oil & Gas and Professional Services. In addition, Richard is responsible for a variety of services including tax planning and compliance, technical reviews, IRS examinations, tax research, transactional planning, staff training and supervision.
A member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants (CSCPA), Richard is also a lecturer in the graduate tax program at the University of Denver. He received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting degree from Brigham Young University and his Masters in Taxation from the University of Denver.
